While based in Helena, but I travel all over the state each summer to document amazing love stories for my Montana couples. So often I find, my couples ask me for recommendations of vendors to use for their wedding so I’ve put together many pages of resources for each city in Montana that I frequently find myself photographing weddings in.

As a Helena wedding photographer, I like to give my couples THE best options to choose from. While I’m familiar with other wedding venues or other vendors to use in Helena, I’ve hand selected these following because I know they are THE best. From a photography standpoint, many of these I’ve chosen because I know they will photograph well and will truly help you put together a “Montana” wedding.

Top Helena, MT Wedding Venues

Summer Star Ranch: A newer wedding venue to Helena, the Summer Star Ranch is located just outside of Helena city limits with sweeping views of distant mountains, meadows and forest. AND this venue has many great rental pieces such as wooden tables, benches and antique tables to help make all of the details come together. They recently built a brand new barn that is stunning and a great thing to have shelter for guests in case of poor weather. Check out this AMAZING wedding I recently photographed at Summer Star Ranch.

Cabin Creek Ranch: While “ranch” is in the name, I would call this more of a backyard, private estate type of venue. Equipped with a pond, log cabin and beautiful grounds, this venue is definitely worth looking into. I have not personally photographed at this location, but it does look like a newer venue with great potential with the right styling and rentals brought in.

Shades of Green:While Shades of Green has been in existence for many years, they just recently became a wedding venue. If you are looking for something different than the typical ranch wedding or hotel reception, check out Shades of Green. This wedding venue has a backyard, garden party feel. I recently photographed a featured editorial piece for Rocky Mountain Bride at Shades of Green. See below to get an idea of what the grounds are like and the potential that this venue holds for your wedding. After photographing many weddings in Helena, MT, this is one of my new favorite venues with a totally different look and feel than what you might be used to seeing.

The Kleffner Ranch: This is probably one of the most popular wedding venues in Helena. The Kleffner barn is a very historic building which can accommodate a large number of guests as can the pavilion. The barn is really a fantastic old building with beautiful beams and wood floors that have been restored. While the building is truly gorgeous, it can get extremely hot in the heat of summer for all of the guests. But nonetheless, the big red barn is great for wedding photography.

Staubach Creek Ranch: The Staubach Creek Ranch is another new wedding venue just outside of Helena near Winston, MT. It also has a barn and beautiful grounds for a ceremony. There are some smaller mountains surrounding the ranch and with it being only a short 15 minutes from Helena, it’s an easy way to have a true ranch wedding with the convenience of Helena’s lodging and restaurants for your guests.

 

Wedding Rentals

Belliveau Weddings and Events: For wedding rentals in Helena, definitely contact Valerie with Belliveau Weddings and Events. She has a whole inventory of wedding rentals including farmhouse tables and benches, whiskey barrel alcohol bars, tablescape pieces and much more. She can make your wedding so much more than basic white chairs and metal tables covered in white linens. Your day will truly be styled to the nines with some of the pieces she has and they will deliver and set up for you!

Helena Floral Design

Westmont: First off, their floral arrangements and styling from Westmont compare to no other florist in Helena. I firmly believe flowers can really make or break how put together your wedding day looks and I recommend Westmont to all of my brides. Not only do they do a fabulous job, their mission behind what they do and what they provide our community is worth supporting 100x over.

Planning & Coordination

Belliveau Weddings and Events: I’ve already mentioned them above for rentals, but for planning and styling services or just day-of coordination, you need to get in touch with Valerie. I’ve worked with her and have gotten to know her and can say that she can take your vision and truly make it come to life.

Bridal Gown Shops

Bridal Images & Mr. Tux: While Helena really only has one wedding gown shop, Linda’s Bridal Images has a great selection at a lower price point.

Eskay Bridal: Take a fun day-trip to Bozeman to visit Eskay Bridal. They have a great selection of gowns in a mid-price range and they are all truly gorgeous!

Velvet Bride: For a day-trip in the other direction, Velvet Bride is one of my absolute favorite shops in the state of Montana and truly has some amazing, high end gowns. Their shop is right in the heart of downtown Missoula and is to die for.

Belle en Blanc: An even further drive from Helena might bring you to Billings where you’ll find Belle en Blanc. They have a GORGEOUS selection of gowns at many price points.

Hair and Makeup Artist in Helena, MT

Taylor Yanzick Licensed Cosmetologist: I regularly work with Taylor as she is my hair and makeup artist that I use for my boudoir clients in my Helena Boudoir Studio. She does an amazing job each and every time. Her makeup is very classic, bridal-like and while still looking very natural and not over-done. Every time I see her work I am always so blown away. I highly recommend you get in touch with her.

Beauty and the Belief: Based out of Bozeman, Shayla equally does an amazing job with both hair and makeup and she travels. She can accommodate huge wedding parties and her work has been published many times. I’ve personally photographed her work as well and I recommend getting in touch with her as well about your wedding-day look.

Wedding Caterers

Chili O’Brien’s,  Jackson Creek Bar and Grille, and Bad Betty’s BBQ; Look into each of these caterers for a wide variety of menu choices. I have ALWAYS had mouth watering food from Chili O’Brien’s. Every. Single. Time. And Jackson Creek Bar and Grille will customize their menu options just for you. Bad Betty’s BBQ also has excellent food which I’ve enjoyed at multiple weddings. You can’t go wrong with any of these options.
