Frequently, I’m asked by my couples who I recommend or what venues are the best for photographing weddings in Bozeman, MT. Below, I’ve put together a list of my top choices. These are based on places I’ve already photographed at or based on the fact that the majority of my couples are looking for a true “Montana” vibe to their special day. Other vendors below are some that I’ve worked with or others that have a stellar reputation in the Bozeman wedding network.

Bozeman, MT Wedding Venues
Foster Creek Farm: What can I say about this venue? It is simply one of my absolute favorites in the Bozeman/Belgrade area. Foster Creek Farm is one of the higher-end venues and nothing about it will disappoint.. Their grounds are gorgeous, they have an all white, remodeled barn, an amazing bridal suite and groom’s getting ready cabin, glamping tents for you and a few of your guests/bridal party to stay, room to set up a huge tented reception, AND mountain views. This spot has it all. I would describe it as having a very chic Montana vibe. You definitely need to look into this venue if you are looking for something a little different than what everyone else has done and if you want your wedding to have an upscale but outdoor feel.
Big Yellow Barn: The Big Yellow Barn is a bit of an icon in the wedding world in Bozeman. With the Bridger Mountains in the backdrop of the ceremony, you can’t go wrong in getting that true Montana vibe. The barn itself is historic and the upper floor makes the perfect setting for a live band and a beautiful reception space. See one of my favorite weddings photographed there: Big Yellow Barn Wedding.
The Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon: I would describe this venue as having a true Montana feel. I have seen some STUNNING weddings photographed at this venue and they all have a cozy, intimate feel. This venue has a more “tucked away” vibe among the trees. This can be great for your pictures because it offers plenty of shade to get out of any harsh sun. Definitely check this one out!
The Ponds at Dry Creek: The mountain views at this venue speak for themselves. As a Bozeman, MT wedding photographer who loves to capture a true Montana experience, the Ponds at Dry Creek is the perfect location. You have stellar mountain views without being in a completely remote location where you’d need to bring everything in for an event; this venue has a lot available to you already and from a wedding photography standpoint, it’s a top choice.
Headwaters Ranch: Located in Three Forks, Headwaters Ranch is a newer venue that truly did everything to perfection. The round barn alone speaks for itself. It’s unique architecture and clean interior bring “barn wedding” to a higher level. Equipped with luxury cabins, glamping tents or even vintage campers for you and your guests, it can provide an entire weekend experience for those closest to you. Not to mention their in-house gourmet catering options. This venue is a MUST to check out. I love that it’s new and definitely up and coming and in great proximitey to Bozeman.
Chateau Event Center: For a unique Spanish/Tuscan inspired venue, you need to look at the Chateau Event Center. This is such a different venue from anything you will see in Montana. The grounds are gorgeous for an outdoor ceremony in front of their gazebo or on the side lawn. They have a beautiful bridal getting-ready suite and the Spanish building with wood beams and massive doors is perfect for an intimate dining space. Here is a recent Bozeman wedding that I photographed at the Chateau Event Center. You’ll have your first dance on the side patio with Italian lights strung around you. It is such a neat spot for a couple that is looking for something different than the rustic venues you’ll find throughout Montana.
Rockin TJ Ranch: This is an expansive venue with a few different options for your reception and ceremony. It’s located just the road from Le Petit Chateau but offers a completely different look and feel. The building is great for receptions and is not over-the-top rustic. The building is bright inside (great for wedding photography) and the ceremony site has beautiful mountains in the background that can be seen well if you have an evening ceremony. They also have a stellar in-house catering team that has made some of the best wedding food I have ever tasted. I recently photographed a brunch wedding at this venue and it was to die for. You can see one of my favorite weddings at this venue in the blog post here.
Firelight Farm: Although I have not shot here, you can see from the website they have a STUNNING mountain view directly behind the modern, rustic barn. If you want to feel like you are getting married at a private estate, this is definitely worth checking out. I would encourage you to bring in a planner for this venue to really maximize it’s beauty and make your wedding look straight out of a magazine. There’s a lot of potential with this venue.
Sacajawea Hotel: This venue had to make the list even though it’s located just outside of Bozeman. As a wedding photographer in Bozeman, MT one of the things I am drawn to and my style of photography gravitates toward is light and bright photos and backgrounds; to me, this can tend to look more “bridal”. The Sacajawea Hotel is an all white, historic building with so much character. I would simply LOVE to photograph a wedding at this location and will not charge any travel fee for this venue. There are options for indoor or outdoor receptions, depending on the size of your wedding, and the grounds and front porch are unreal. Not to mention the option for some guests or bridal party to be able to stay on-site!
Wedding Floral Design
Rowan and Larch: I have had the pleasure of photographing Hannah’s work multiple times now and what can I say? She is simply THE best. You will never be disappointed if you choose Rowan and Larch and let her help develop a creative vision for your day. Next to choosing a wedding photographer who can capture your wedding in an editorial fashion, floral design is the next most important thing. I always tell my brides not to skimp on flowers. TRULY, so many other details could be overlooked but if you have amazing flowers, your wedding will look high-end and fine art. Hannah is the mastermind behind Rowan and Larch and you’ll find some of her beautiful work below:
The Flower Bar, Wild Blume and Florally Bozeman: You also can’t go wrong with either of these three florists. Large, loose bouquets designed with a fine art aesthetic WILL MAKE any wedding look like it is on another level. These three KNOW how to do it. It is an investment well made and I highly recommend reaching out to them sooner rather than later- they’re amazing and they book fast!
Bozeman Wedding Planners
Bash Bozeman: These girls are amazing! If you are looking for someone to come up with a vision for your wedding, do the planning and leg work and style your day to the nines, please get in touch with Bash Bozeman. They are unreal at what they do and your day will look like it was meant to be in a magazine.
History In The Making: I have met Tina several times and she is the sweetest! I have not yet gotten to work with her at a wedding but please check out her portfolio. The events she has helped with look beautiful and I believe she offers day-of coordination as well if you are simply looking for someone to help the day go off without a hitch. And if wedding photos are important to you, having a planner or day-of coordinator can help tremendously in taking care of all of the details so you, as the bride, get to enjoy your day and all of the time we have for pictures.
Gather in Montana: I have also met Kimberly and can say her style and taste is impeccable. She offers many different options for her planning and coordinating services. You choose how much or how little you want her to do. She customizes her coverage to meet every couple’s needs and I definitely recommend checking her out!
DJ’s
Joe’s DJ: Most people think that finding a DJ is just another box to check in terms of wedding planning. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Take it from someone who has been at countless weddings with all types of crowds (young, old, hip, classic), your DJ MATTERS! Finding someone who can really read the crowd, keep your party moving and get people on the dance floor is invaluable. And not every DJ can do that. I highly recommend Joe’s DJ; I’ve worked with several of their DJ’s and they are all great!
Bozeman Wedding Rentals
Tailored and Tied: Many fun furniture pieces can be rented from here to elevate your day. Whether you’re looking for signage, bars, lighting, lounges, or custom installs to make your day unique, Tailored and Tied will over deliver!
Montana Party Rentals: You can make absolutely any event happen with Montana Party Rentals. They have it all! And it’s not the run-of-the-mill basic chair and table rentals; they have the wooden farmhouse tables, cross back chairs, furniture pieces, and accent tables to help bring your wedding above average. But contact them early! They have limited inventory and everyone knows about them so reserve your rentals well in advance.
Gallatin Valley Event Rental: This is a newer company (at least to me). They are another great alternative for rentals. Bozeman has really become a wedding hub for Montana so Gallatin Valley Event Rentals is a great place to check for additional rentals, especially if Montana Party Rentals has no availability for your date!
Calligraphy and Signage
Bon Temps Calligraphy: There’s no one better! If you are looking for fine art, custom invitation suites or other paper goods for your wedding, please check out Bon Temps Calligraphy. She is amazing! I have worked with her and photographed her work and it is truly beautiful!
Ice Pond Press: Molly specializes in custom letterpress wedding invitation suites. Her work is absolutely amazing as well. I love when couples include maps or aspects of Montana in their paper goods and Ice Pond Press has done this many times. Check out their website portfolio!
