A BIG SKY, Montana WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I'm thrilled you are here. My name is Jade Hall. I'm a Montana native who started photographing weddings in 2013.

It’s my goal not just to capture the moments, but to document your day in such a way that truly creates art. So that when you see your gallery of wedding images, they look like they came straight from a magazine.

I do this through detail styling and interactive posing which creates very natural moments between the two of you. And of course, locations like Big Sky allow for awe-inspiring backdrops everywhere you turn producing an incredible, editorial-like wedding gallery.

I accept a limited number of weddings each year in order to provide the best experience and quality to my couples.

If you are having a destination wedding, or if you’re local to Montana, choosing a wedding photographer in Big Sky, MT can be challenging. The actual town of Big Sky is quite small so most likely you will need to look into some of the amazing wedding photographers and other vendors in the nearby town of Bozeman.

However, if you’ve found me here, feel free to check out my work and some of the weddings I’ve photographed in Big Sky in my portfolio link above. I accept a limited number of weddings each year to ensure the best experience and creativity can be put toward each client. Contact me here for my upcoming availability.

Big Sky, MT Wedding Venues

Moonlight Basin: This is the ultimate Big Sky wedding experience, and for photography, nothing compares. Really, if that is your goal or you are planning a destination wedding here, look no further. Moonlight Basin is known for its high-end amenities and sweeping mountain views. It’s truly everything you could want for an epic Montana wedding. And being just outside of Bozeman, it has the convenience factor while being in an epic Montana location.

Lone Mountain Ranch: Very rustic and truly Montana. That is how I would describe Lone Mountain Ranch. The ceremony site overlooks Big Sky’s landmark mountain peek while the log building offers a rustic, western vibe. This venue, if styled correctly, could be over-the-top in terms of table scape designs inside and epic views outside. A definite must to check out if you are looking at getting married in Big Sky.

320 Guest Ranch: This is an incredible riverside location with open fields and mountains as the backdrop almost every direction you look. You’ll see this venue on almost every list of venues in the Big Sky area because it encompasses so much. This venue definitely has more of a “ranch” feel than some of the other venues listed. I’d say the others can have more of a high-end feel while this venue and the others below are more casual in nature.

Rainbow Ranch Lodge: Another rustic log building with amazing mountain views. This venue is very similar to the Lone Mountain Ranch. Rainbow Ranch Lodge offers lots of perks by having many items included in their venue fee.

Big Sky Chapel: This quaint chapel offers the best of so many worlds with epic views of Lone Peak and close proximity to everything in Big Sky, this chapel is definitely a place to check out if you’re looking for a church setting for your ceremony.

Gallatin Riverhouse: I couldn’t agree more with the statements on their site that this has a backyard wedding feel. But it’s on the river and the views are expansive. Plus, they can accommodate up to 600 guests so if you’ve had an issue with finding enough capacity in other venues, definitely check this one out. The Gallatin riverside frontage just can’t be beat as the background sound during your ceremony.

Wedding Floral Design

Rowan and Larch: Choosing the best Big Sky wedding photographer is your first priority, but finding the right florist is a close second. On that note, Hannah’s work is incomparable. As a photographer, I can tell you that her floral creations are as impressive through the lens as they are to the naked eye. There are many ways that you can save money on your wedding, but don’t cut corners with the flowers. Hannah works closely with brides to make their wedding dreams a reality. You will see the spectacular results on your wedding day, and they will be preserved forever as a beautiful backdrop in all of your wedding pictures. Just look at one of the high-end arrangements she’s created for a previous client.

Florally Bozeman: Many great vendors are located in Bozeman but travel to Big Sky to deliver their services and Florally Bozeman is no acception. I had the pleasure of working with her for a wedding at Rainbow Ranch Lodge this summer and she created the most gorgeous, colorful arrangements that absolutely popped and elevated the entire day. See below:

Big Sky Wedding Planners

Bash Bozeman: The Bash team will blow your mind. They’re very good at taking a client’s basic ideas and spinning them into a memorable, magazine-worthy event that really reflects the personality of the bride and groom. If you want everything to be perfect, then this all-inclusive wedding design firm is an ideal choice.

History In The Making: If you are looking for a wedding planner with genuine warmth, then Tina at History in the Making is your gal. Her portfolio is stunning, and you can see that this is truly her calling. I think she also does day-of coordinating, which is great if you don’t need full wedding planner services but want someone else to handle the last-minute frenzy. A day-of coordinator also frees you up to spend more time with the photographer capturing all those special wedding day moments.

Gather in Montana: Kimberly is as sweet and unique as the weddings that she plans. She also has a nice variety of different planning services and price structures. She’s great about helping brides to get exactly what they need and want while working within a budget.

Calligraphy and Signage

Ice Pond Press: Molly is the queen of quirky bespoke wedding invitations. Her custom suites are made with love and truly reflect the personality of the clients. I especially like how she incorporates the spirit of Montana with maps and other unique touches. If a memorable invitation is important to you, check out the Ice Pond Press portfolio.

Cast and Company: The absolute best! If you want your invitation suites to look like fine art, only Cast and Co. will do. I have photographed her work and met her personally, and you can’t ask for a better-looking finished product or for a nicer designer.

Hair and Makeup Artists

There are lots of hair and makeup artists vying for your business, but these three are among the best. Their work is so flawless that all of them have been featured in print. These artists are far from undiscovered, so you’ll want to get on their books ASAP. For the perfect romantic wedding day look, I recommend: Beauty and the Belief, Ethereal Hair & Makeup, and Fumi Makeup. Check out one of Ethereal’s looks published in Montana Bride Magazine below.

Big Sky Wedding Rentals

Montana Party Rentals: If you want a polished, editorial-worthy look for your wedding, Montana Party Rentals should be your first stop. Their inventory is amazing with both classic rentals and vintage rentals to suit all styles. They have everything from iron arches for your ceremony to distressed barnwood tables for the reception. Check them out, but don’t wait to call. They’re always in demand and many of their pieces are one of a kind, so you’ll want to nail down your favorites early.
