SPRUCE MOUNTAIN RANCH WEDDING | ANNISSA & DJ

A few weekends ago, I had the opportunity to shoot again at Spruce Mountain Ranch (one of my favorite wedding venues in Colorado) for DJ and Annissa’s wedding. And to top the day off, I got to work side-by-side with my mom who flew in from Montana to second shoot with me. I always have so much fun working with her and LOVE the angle she captures.

Anna’s Custom Pews set up the ceremony site and it couldn’t have looked more perfect. As Annissa and DJ said their vows to each other, the storm clouds rolled over the adjacent mountains. They were able to make their way back down the aisle as husband and wife just before it started to downpour. We were able to sneak out just after dinner to finish up photos and the light couldn’t have been more beautiful. They had THE best exit from their reception as they ran through the crowd of guests with white rose petals falling to be taken away in a vintage Rolls Royce. I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that.

When I met with DJ and Annissa, I immediately felt connected to them. I think it’s because I saw so many similarities with where I was just three years ago. I too was married at 23 and within a week, was on my way to live across country with my new husband. These two just made a huge move and will be starting a brand new life together far from home. Annissa and DJ, may you enjoy every moment in your new life together. Take every opportunity life throws your way and always, always remember “home”.
