The Ultimate Groom’s Gift: Bridal Boudoir

Okay bride-to-be, if you’re reading this you are probably either searching for a great gift to give your groom on your wedding day…

OR you already LOVE the idea as a gift for your future hubby but you’re nervous to pull the trigger….

 

I wanted to take the opportunity to explain what doing a boudoir session as a gift looks like to help answer some of the most common questions I get asked.

I am a wedding photographer first, so naturally I have a LOT of my brides also do a boudoir session to give their groom an album as a present on their wedding day.

There are a few reasons why now is a great time to commit to a boudoir session:

1. You’re probably in the best shape of your life right now preparing for the big day! There’s really no better time to feel more confident about a session than the months before your wedding.
2. The symbolism of giving “yourself” to your groom on a day you are committing your whole life to him doesn’t compare to any other gift you might be considering!
   
3. If I’m photographing your wedding, it gives us another opportunity to work together before your big day. You’ll get used to being in front of my camera and hearing my posing queues. It’s also great to have your hair and makeup professionally done (always included with my sessions) so you can learn what you like/don’t like for your big day. Even if I’m not photographing your wedding, it’s a great opportunity to be in front of a photographer’s lens before the wedding.

WHY YOUR LOCATION ISN’T A PROBLEM

My boudoir studio is located in downtown Helena, MT. It is an AMAZING natural light space which allows my boudoir sessions to have my same light and airy aesthetic you see in my wedding portfolio.

However, if you don’t live in Helena, that’s not a problem! I do a SAME-DAY reveal session of your images.

WHAT IS A SAME-DAY REVEAL?

We schedule your session in the morning of a day of your choosing. If you are from Bozeman, Missoula, Great Falls, Livingston, Butte, etc., we can schedule the session to allow additional drive time in the morning.

My hair/makeup artist is ready on-site in my studio and will give you a complete makeover within about an hour and 15 minutes!

Then we begin your boudoir shoot! I typically photograph my clients in 2-3 outfits and the actual shooting portion lasts around an hour and a half.

When we’re finished, you are free to go have lunch a do a little shopping! I will text you within about 2 hours for you to return to see your images.

During the reveal you will see a slideshow of some of my favorite images set to music, you’ll see your STUNNING before and after and then I will show you a final gallery of all images.

We will go through the images together narrowing down your top choices through a few rounds of viewing each photo in your gallery. I will help you select images that go well together in an album and am there to give advice on your final choices as well.

Most of my clients order a custom, black leather album (think “little black book” for your groom) in a 8”x8” size. That particular size includes 34 images.

WHY BEING AN AVENUE ONE BRIDE HAS IT’S PERKS

If you are one of my brides and I am photographing your upcoming wedding, you will receive a $100 voucher to use toward your boudoir session album or other product of your choosing.

AND, if you have a friend, perhaps your maid of honor or other bridesmaid, sister, etc. who wants to join you and books their session back-to-back with yours, YOU receive an additional $50 voucher and your friend receives $75 voucher as well!!!

WHEN DO I GET MY ALBUM?

Once the day is over, I go to work doing the final editing on the images you’ve selected for your groom’s album.

I then custom design your album and send you a link to view the proof. You can request any changes before it is every printed.

Once I have your final approval, I will order the album and have it shipped directly to you. It comes in a gorgeous gray linen box for safe keeping (and gift giving).

Typically, once you approve your album for print, it will arrive within 7-10 days.
